2 Weeks on Cloud 9

The last two weeks have been the single most exciting weeks I have had on my journey towards entrepreneurship. All of these small "wins" are my dreams coming to fruition.

We hosted our first beeswax wrap workshop at the Tipperary and 14 people showed up! To host a workshop and have people who are genuinely excited to attend is a fantastic feeling.  If you missed it and would like to sign up for our next one on March 12th, here is the link.

I attended a meeting with a local group who we are partnering our North Shore Proud Clothing to help them reach their fundraising goals. I had always envisioned part of the North Shore Proud Clothing line as an opportunity for groups to sell as a fundraising avenue, but I didn't expect it to take off so soon.

Later that evening I was contacted by J.C. Douglas from C100 morning crew and asked to be part of their "Tell us something good" segment. This was totally unexpected.  How could someone in Halifax know who I am, and what I am doing? I am just starting out, but the power of social media is strong. Just WOW.

If that wasn't enough excitement for the week, I was finalist in a business competition for North Shore Proud Clothing. I had to do a live pitch in front of a panel of judges and fellow entrepreneurs who were also competing. To my surprise I came third and received a small grant. With this grant, we are able to purchase inventory, that will reduce wait times allowing us to get our products to  our customers faster. We are very grateful for the Cumberland Connector for this opportunity.

This week I shadowed Emma at Uprooted Market & Cafe in Musquodobit Harbor. I finally had a chance to meet her at a Networking Event hosted by Farmworks. She kindly invited me to join her on a Saturday morning. I was able to check out her store and get tips from a pro who is entering her 5th year in business. To be able to see first hand what it takes, how much produce you need on a product run. It's fine to do projections in your business plan about hypothetical sales, it's another thing to actually see it in action within a similar business.

Our first Order of North Shore Proud came in late last week and we are in the process of getting products delivered to our customers before our next order goes in next week.

I was able to start my marketing/ branding for my vehicle and few clothing items to wear to Networking events.

Needless to say all of this excitement is amazing, but I have to admit after the last 2 weeks I am looking forward to sleeping in on my day off. On top of all of this I am still working my regular job. I think one of the scariest things will be when I receive my last paycheck in a few months. Bye Bye security. Until then I will continue to hussel and build my business.  The last 2 weeks I have seen small pieces fall into place. I can't wait to see it all come together in one big picture.

Goodnight everyone, thank you for you continued support on this journey.
