Shiitake mushrooms have a delicious smokey flavour and great umami. They are also regarded highly for their immune boosting properties. As reported in a 2015 study in the Journal of the American College of Nutrition the regular consumption of Shiitake mushrooms led to improved immunity and reduced inflammation.
